Another successful ride tonight....check out our home page picture...14 bettys out for the ride...we split into two groups after we did one short loop, as it was such a nice evening, the woods were a little crowded on those two-way trails.

One group of 6 set out in Crother's woods and were zipping along, when Holly's chain broke , but we were smiling again when Ian came along with a chain tool, and importantly he knew how to use a chain tool, but we were sad again when the chain was just not fit to be repaired and Holly had to abandon the idea of continuing on...and Stephania, who was just out for a recovery ride after her 160k ride on the weekend was kind enough to also call it a night and drive Holly and her bike home...aren't mountainbikers just some of the nicest people you'll ever meet?

So that left 4 of us in our group and off we set to ride north up the upper Don trail and back along the flats...some of those same roots seem to get us all...we'll get them this season, I'm sure of it.

Not sure exactly how the other group made out but when we rendezvoused at the kiosk they were all smiles and Sue said she had taken some pictures which we will post and everybody left calling 'see you next week'.

Also lots of talk of the upcoming events the Wild Bettys are set to do...first off is the Lifesystles 24 hours race this weekend...i think we may just have us a competitive team....the competition is in hiding I've heard ;)

In addition, there was more talk of our destination ride and the plans...I was busy saying we like to picnic lunch and Eleanor corrected me that Albion is near the great 'bull and somebody' pub in Bolton for refreshments after the ride....silly me, to think picnic when there's such a close at hand pub!!!

And also talk of our lake to lake adventure set for next month...we have two teams entered, for that event, and we are very pleased that they have made a female team category...more on that later.

Other things happening of course, are the Canada Cup races which Holly Whiteknight is competing in....she's fine reportedly, but did have a crash and so didn't finish the race in Baie du Paul this past weekend...we wish her great success at Tremblant this weekend coming and of course will see her at the third Canada cup at Hardwood where Erica, Becky ,Melinda , and our new member Shannon will be racing on May 30th....GO WILD BETTYS.

So, our kit is moving fast...we have ordered more jerseys which will be in in a few weeks and we have loads of socks and shorts...only a couple of jackets left...in addition we have the auto feeders posted...

Still working on this Website...think it's coming along...I would welcome any comments anyone might have.
