Road trips, camping trips, day trips, exotic destination trips....anybody who gets one is a lucky duck.

The Bettys had a camping trip of sorts, we raced in the Chico's Summer Solstice 24 hours race a couple of weekends ago....fabulous camp site with our five little pup-tents surrounding the Wild Bettys tent...a little home away from home...not that we spent much time there with one hour-ish laps we were all pretty busy. It was a great weekend, we had an old club member, Carleney, don the WB jersey for the weekend and Sarah O, Sarah Kent, Lisa and I  rounded out the 5 woman team. Everybody rode very well and we ended up on the podium in our category!!! So proud!

This week is the BCBR, and we have 3 Bettys and Brad from Lapierre (an honourary Betty) racing hard. The tweets and FB updates, and Wendy's husbands blog are helping us keep tabs on them, not to mention the BCBR website's daily results postings...So proud!

Next up, this weekend is the 5th OCup in Sudbury at the Naughton Trails, home of the Walden Mountain Cycling Club, home of our own racer Betty, Erica..alas, this summer Erica has chosen other endeavours over mtb racing and so I am showing myself around her hometown...fabulous trails...where Buckwallow (next Ocup in August) has trails on the granite of the Canadian Shield, here in Nickel Town the rock is very different, black, glistening in the sun, and a tad bit pointy :P but grippy all the same...a wonderful treat and well worth the drive..had hoped for a big Bettys roadtrip...but I'm here on my own...though chatting with the proud trailbuilder, Rob, I found out a Canada Cup is planned here for next season...YES!!!!

Day trips, so June went by in a flash, eh? and we didn't end up with a weekend destination ride for the club, 'my bad', certainly my apologies...we are on for weekend activities in July though :)

July 8 Sudbury OCup

July 14 Don Trails Wild Betty TrailBuild Day, details here note our date: July 14

July 28 Buckwallow Destination Ride and PotLuck at Sue Armstrong's in Gravenhurst.

Sure hope you can make it to these weekend events...cuz you know July is going to go by faster than June did ;)

We also need to start planning our Sacred Rides winter trip... that would fall into the exotic destination trip category..say, Mexico...a little riding, a little relaxing, a little yoga, a little Margarita? We just need to pick a week....I'm thinking February. Check the members forum, we need to get planning.

Trips, love any kind.

Ride On!

Melinda
