We had our official Sign Up and Socials this week. A big thank-you to Sport Swap for hosting our Toronto gathering and to Kelseys for our Milton event. Both were a lot of fun and both very different. We truly are a group of Bettys of all ages, all abilities, all levels of commitment, some very keen, some very social and everybody in-between! It was a pleasure to welcome our new members and as always a ton of fun to see the core group of leaders, riders and racers.

Being a Wild Betty is an opportunity to make friends, improve skills, advocate for urban recreational space and celebrate all things mountain biking.

We are strictly mountain biking with a dash of cyclocross, and we are set to ride our urban trails and explore beyond on our weekend outings with big plans. First on the agenda for a few of us is the first Ontario Cup race of the season tomorrow at the Mansfield Outdoor Centre...a wonderful privately owned plot next door to the awesome Dufferin County Forest...a sandy, hilly spot that is traditionally the season opener for Chicoracing's race series. For those racing, I hope you were able to check out Steve's blog for some tips. Good Luck to all! For those not racing, the forest is on our list for a weekend destination ride this season so not to worry you can still ride the area.

Next weekend, Sunday May 6,  we are holding our learn to race free clinic at Albion hills, be sure to sign up if you think you might like to try racing. We're not about raising funds, no ulterior motives except recreation...which in our busy world of 2012 is hugely needed by all. The freedom felt on the mountain bike is pure awesomeness that begs to be shared. It's not too late to sign up if you missed this week's events and please note we are hosting monthly beginner rides in the Don this season, check our calendar for dates.

Welcome to all the 2012 Wild Bettys,it's going to be a fantastic season now that you're here!!!

Ride On!

Melinda
