A new beginning is happening for many Bettys this year and that means that a few will not be with us on our trails this season. New babies for Kara and Isabelle, new hometowns for Melissa and Laura and new schooling for Erica. We wish those of you with these exciting life changes taking you away from our weekly rides, and race team, all the best....and rest assured, we will be here to ride with if and when you return.

We've been busy preparing for our season. Crystal from ADETinc gave an awesome first responders course for our leaders at LaPierre Toronto. Thanks Crystal and Rachael!!

We also had our roving booth at the Toronto Bike Show, the first weekend in March. Did we have fun?!. Visiting with all our friends, making new ones, like at the IMBA booth below, shopping (of course), check out Cathy's and Dee's new helmets. Safety is no accident. It is so important, and way more enjoyable, to have good working equipment and starting at the top is always a good idea.

We are very excited to welcome the new members who have joined through our new online only sign up. Thanks for joining!!!Can't wait to meet you in person...as with any new technology there seem to be more steps in the name of convenience...first we have to sign in to the Wild Bettys site and then we have to sign into the CCNBikes site!! WTF!! Well only the once...as long as you keep track of your username and password ;). It is getting cumbersome in our world with so many names and passwords to remember but, of course, these steps are for our added protection of our privacy while also enabling us to interact with more people and businesses on the internet.

I am so excited for our sign up and socials coming up in April. Tuesday April 24, 6:30pm at SPORT SWAP on Bayview Avenue, near our trail head for the Don Rides and Thursday April 26, 7pm at KELSEY'S  in Milton near to the Kelso Conservation Area where we will be kicking off our west rides. These events, which are often a flurry of form filling and cheque writing, will now be stream-lined with laptops and more socializing. Each new member will receive their OCA membership card as well as some treats from our sponsors; ClifBar and Merrithew Health and Fitness, as well as WildBettys. Sure hope you can come out. Of course, if those nights don't work for you please sign up on the website under the club page and come on out to the rides...all riders must have completed the online waiver to ride with us on the trails. Please contact me, MELINDA,  with any technical difficulties.

Ride On!                                                                                                                                                                                 Melinda.

Nice work Melinda. Maybe this year I will join up. The only problem I have is that I live North and getting down for rides is always a problem.
