What a great week. We had our sign up and social on Tuesday night at the Fox and Fiddle, and did we have a spectacular turnout?...all the Wild Bettys in their gorgeous jackets were there to answer questions and meet the ladies who came out...

I think we were able to answer everything as we ended the evening with 10 new members, and another team in the making for the Lake to Lake in June...now we have to get out there and ride!!! Next Tuesday, May 4....that's the day.

We are still working on this website...our store is up and appears to be working as we have had a couple of purchases..thank you. I hope it is convenient...there still is the paper waiver that needs to be signed for club membership, but I know OCA is working on that. The important thing is that we our covered with the group insurance that membership to the OCA provides us with...safety is no accident.

Other parts of the web to be developed over the next short while include the forums...we get lots of visitors checking out the forum but little activity in the discussion...could be the topics but I think it is the format...we will have a forum/discussion page for all registered users of the site who get a peek at the Wild Bettys, but for members there will be a private forum for discussions amoungst us regarding rides and activities in lieu of emalis that might end up in junk boxes and missed, and then a further forum for those in the training membership for more personal goal directed questions and discussions moderated by our coach.

One aspect of collective group riding of course is trail stewardship and the Wild Bettys is committed to volunteerism for trail maintenance and development...check out the link I posted on the ride page that is a study from 2007 all about our neck of the woods, Crother's woods, that is! TORBA is our local association and I encourage all riders to check them out, www.torontooffroad.org/. They too are changing up their site, but they are well acquainted with our trail system, as they have been intergral in its creation over the last decade.

So as this has been a week of recovery from last week's first Ocup at Mansfield and now this weekend will be training for next week's race at Albion I'm going to go for my ride early this morning while the sun is shining, I've loads more to post...so check back again later.

Ride On!

Melinda.
