So many Betty events, I'm seriously behind on letting you know how they are all going. Last weekend was the inaugural Trailblazing Ontario Mountain Bike festival at Kelso conservation center and this weekend was our annual destination ride at Buckwallow with a swim and BBQ at Pine Lake...(welcome to our new member Charmaine who joined us today and welcome back to Shannon after her shoulder injury in the Don a couple of months back).
While we were doing that, one of our Wild Bettys ride leaders, Barb, was getting ready for and raced today the 8 hour event at Hardwood Hills and won the solo women's category!!! Congratulations!!!

I have been steadily recovering from the BCBR , it's been 2 weeks now, with road rides and strength training interrupted of course by work. The recovery has been made much easier having these events to come out to and check out the legs. Last week at the Festival, the Bettys hosted 4 ladies only rides at Kelso and today"s ride at Buckwallow felt like a piece of cake compared to the roots and rocks on the BC Suncoast....nothing beats experience...I've been thinking it's just being old...but it's really about experience...you just have to have hours in the saddle....and those hours are so much fun with the Bettys.
See you out there....next up the Canal Days Mountain Bike Race next Sunday!
Ride On!
Melinda.
