Yesterday was O Cup#1 of the 2010 season and Wild Bettys had a very good day indeed. The weather was perfect for our new jackets....cool and breezy with no rain, thank goodness....but just that much above 10 degrees that we all raced in short sleeves and shorts.
There was a great turnout for the first race and as usual new people in every category, which made for loads of competition.
Holly had a good start to her elite career racing, adding that extra lap to the race and riding strong throughout. Erica won her race in senior expert, and I had a sprint finish which made for some excitement at the back of the pack! I'll catch Colleen next time!!
Tonight I'm working on all the last minute prep for tomorrows sign up, making sure our goodies from Silent Sports are ready including a coupon for a Steve Neal bike Fit, value $200, which will go to one lucky new Wild Betty.
We are so excited about this early start to the season weather-wise, the trails are so dry and ready we'll be on the trails our first night out...no waiting till the frost dries out and riding on the paved bike path for weeks for us this year!! The great thing about the new development that the city and torba has done in Crother's wood is that there are trails for all levels. We'll start the season out easy and build slowly as we all gain fitness and confidence.
