Our beginner ride this past week was a quiet ride...just two of us!! Thanks Julie for coming out...it had rained all day and I think the weather put off our beginners...but it was a beautiful bright evening and we stayed off any slippery off-camber trails....it was the beginner ride afterall, there's loads of time in the future for riding the messy stuff!!! We had our second beginner ride at the beginning of June. That ride was a perfect evening. There were 8 of us...a much more manageable size of group than our first ride, thanks to Tanya and Pat coming out to help sweep we didn't lose anybody that time....
did we Pat!?! Of course the problem at our first ride had been how I had described the next trail junction we would stop at : I suggested we meet at the trail that Pat had helped build...when she didn't come and didn't come we got out those fabulous cell phones and called her. Her response was "well, I've helped build a few!"
Speaking of trail building we are all set for the Wild Bettys 2011 trail build day with the city of Toronto and TORBA and that will be October 22...mark you calendars...deets are on our calendar...It's sure to be a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon in the fall.
Our next beginner ride will be in August, and these rides will continue into the fall...check our calendar..we do ride in light rain or shine, though not in thunderstorms, check the forum for last minute updates, and come out and see what trails the T. dot has to offer new mountain bikers.
