What a full week...we were rained out for Tuesday's first ride of the season and so opened up our first beginner ride on Thursday to all levels....we had 15 ladies come out and had a great evening....
Note to self: 15 is too big a ride to keep track of everybody....we even temporarily lost our sweep, do not repeat!!!

Thank goodness for turned on cell phones....you can't really get lost in the Don since it is so close to main roads...but it is quite a few kilometers of trail and you can
easily miss people ...it all worked out and we all had a safe and happy ride in the evening sun. Though some of us had a dark ride home after chatting in the parking lot Another note to self: when reminding others to bring lights, bring your own lights.

Then on Saturday we had our first destination ride, we went out to Durham Forest and conquered some log piles. We were a small group of 6 for our first ride, but we covered a lot of ground on an easy sunny ride...it was a perfect day...topped off with treats from the bakery in Goodwood.

On Sunday we had our first Learn to Race Riding Clinic at Albion Hills....man, was this a success...the team worked on cornering and climbing and each Betty was riding stronger by the end of the day...very impressive, look for the video of the day on our youtube channel.

And that brings us back round to Tuesday,  the weather cooperated this time and we had our first regular ride in the Don...thanks to Patrick Dennis of Norco for snapping the group shot of us at the Thomas Hauser Kiosk before we split into two groups; the Wilds and the Bettys for our rides. We were able to meet up in the dirt jumps at the end of our ride and have a little fun there all together before heading back to the trail head...only one spill for the night....our Melissa tumbled into some leaves over on the lower section of Catalyst, she is a great tumbler it turns out

So if you missed us this week, come on out next week and join us...it's going to be an awesome season judging from our kick off first week!!!

Ride On!

Melinda.

P.S.Good luck to all those racing this Sunday in OCup #2 at Woodnewton!!!
