And so a new season begins!!! We had our Sign Up and Social this week with a great turnout. Welcome to our new members, Rebecca, Erica, Jackie and Sara-Lyn. Thank you to all the Bettys who came out to answer questions and have some fun. The new Sport Swap is going to be a great spot for all the Bettys' needs this early season since it is so close to our trail head. Julie was able to find some necessities for the trail....citrus wipes!....so now when we have those flat changing clinics on the trail, we'll have clean hands to carry on with our rides!
Chico racing held the first Ontario Cup race this weekend at the Mansfield Outdoor Center. We had EIGHT racers in three different races....Congratulations to all!...you should be very proud of your efforts. The rain held off and it was a perfect day despite a few glitches...like nearly running out of gas, misplaced licenses and oops! forgetting to sign in....Now that we've got these slip ups out of the way we are sure to be more organized for the next races
. But it all worked out, as these things are apt to do, and everyone arrived in time to have a cuppa java under our tent, Thank You Mr Neal.
Mansfield is a great venue for an early spring race as it is sandy and dry even in the rain...this year's course was a particularly fast challenge-your-fitness type race with steady climbing and a wicked fast descent at the end of the lap.
Next on our agenda is the start of our weekly Tuesday rides, 'they' are calling for rain so we will decide in the afternoon..check the ride page or the forum by 4 pm for a decision. Can't wait to start our rides. Also, we are starting our monthly Beginner Thursday Rides this week, AND we have a destination ride to Durham on Saturday. A busy kick off, go big or go home eh?
