Now is the time to assess how the season went, what was great, what could be improved…and to come up with a plan for how to make next season better…. maybe it’s just to get out on the bike more often with the Bettys…we’ll be there!!! Tuesdays in the Don and every fourth Thursday for a catch-up/beginner ride throughout the season…but maybe you’ve got different goals, maybe you liked the events you did last year and want to go faster or do different events and go farther…well, now is the time to get a plan and put it into action…
We have a new training group option for members with a forum buzzing with training questions and answers.
There are mountain biking opportunities everywhere!!! There’s no limit, no boundaries, only YOU!!!
I’ve been assessing my last season…gotta say I love my bike…most bike riders love their bikes but this year’s was a big departure…I went back to a hardtail, back to a men’s sized bike and up to a 29inch wheel…not sure if it was just one thing or more likely the combination that made me feel like I was really on the right bike.
I might be a little fitter, a little stronger, a little more technically comfortable but I know I am a whole lot more confident on this bike, the Superfly 29er…
There are a few Bettys who have got new bikes, and a few looking for a new bike…all-important when you get a new bike is a bike fit. Any reputable shop should sell you an appropriately sized bike…but the fit is different. We all ride for fun and exercise but when a bike is fit properly it’s comfortable and way more efficient so your efforts are more efficient which leads to you having more control and of course, be able to go faster!!!
We have had some great fall rides. …. …check out the videos; the colours when they finally came this season did not disappoint, Ontario rocks! The leaves add a bit of ‘where’s’ the trail?’, but also have proven to make for softer landings :) Our night rides have been inspiring…the trails look so different…’where’d that bridge come from? Every ride is a different experience, even on the same trail.
The Bettys joined the Donrats for a haunted Hallowe’en ride. Thank you for leading, boys… it was fun, and nice to have an opportunity to ride with such enthusiastic stewards of our trails…. Mike had been out raking in the afternoon before our ride! …awesome!

It’s getting colder and likely will get wetter…there’ll be a few more opportunities for trailrides before we hit the trainers and can start the snowsports….hope you get out and join us.
Ride On!
