The Bettys have been very busy. We’re continuing to ride in the Don on Tuesday evenings…. the beautiful weather certainly has helped and our new lights will really help as the nights are closing in.

On the weekends we’ve had another destination ride, Durham Forest this time, and we had a ton o’fun on those twisty trails, hope you checked out the ladies on . This weekend Bettys were even busier, Barb and Carlene were at the Hardwood Fall 8 hour event on Saturday and 7 of us took on the Squeezer and the St Catherine’s wine festival on Sunday. Alcohol, though a good idea in the spirit of celebration, was not what I craved after the 34K ride in the woods but the food on offer at the festival certainly hit the spot, thanks Becky for the tip on the samosas!! We all had a good race, all riding on our own, I had planned today on being support, but all the ladies who rode today did such an awesome job they really didn’t need any help.

Everyone was smiles on the finish line, despite Julie’s comment when she came in…something about ‘unusual punishment’, but even that was quickly followed by how much fun some of the trails were...and new trails too! Truly, there are new trails being cut pretty well everywhere we go…could this mean the mountain biking is growing? I THINK SO, and you better get in on the fun!!

Even though 2010 riding season is not over yet, we, like the entire biking industry, are busy now preparing for next season…. thinking about our plans: who’s going to do what, who’s going to race, who’s going to lead, what bike might we be riding, and all the fun dreaming about just how great Wild Bettys is to be a part of now and in the future.

Ride On!

Melinda
