Can't wait for the season to begin. After ground hog day, it always seems like spring is coming faster...yeah, yeah we'll get some snow, and I'm still cross country skiing once a week and loving it...but it just seems brighter earlier in the morning and later in the day...can't wait for our evening rides.
So many topics to tell you about flash in and out of my head, "Oh, I'll tweet that; Oh, we need to change the Wildbettys FB page status to this or that", it's become a constant source of fun with lots of outlets for expression, just hope somebody's reading it! It's all in the name of getting out on the bike with our friends, friends who are counting on you to show up for some fun, and will be there next week too.
There is a big list of things to do to get ready for 2012, and it is getting a little shorter, cuz come the real spring, I'll be riding and racing with way less time for lists:
- Sponsors are all lined up, Check! Thank You all for helping us...links to their websites are on our home page....all awesome businesses worth a visit.
- Order placed for our new race kit, Check!
- Leaders all lined up, Check!
- First aid course set up, Check!, "Safety is no accident" :)
- Race team members all lined up and training hard, Check!
- Registered for the first event of the year, the Frostbike, next weekend, Check!...then off for a training trip down south and then THE BIKE SHOW!!! Yippee! we'll be there, look for us, March 3 at the Better Living Centre at the EX.
- Work on this website, small check! never going to be off the list ;). We are going full online-only with the registration/waiver....days away I'm told from being up and running by our friends at ccnbikes and OCA...as soon as you register, I will get to work on getting you onto our forum, and newsletter list, so you won't miss any news.
- Our Sign Up and Social is still a way off at the end of April and we've some social events planned if you want to get in on them..the membership is annual and only $38 and we really are a year-round club...especially this season with so little snow and all the winter training plans..like at Lapierre Toronto and Live Right Now, not to mention trail riding.
Please check out our race team page and our leaders page...I'm still working on getting everybody's information up on their own pages but the composite page will at least show you who they are: All awesome, accomplished women with a shared love of mountain biking ready to share it with you, and our racers are all keen riders ready to give it their all for 2012.
